The most recommended way, according to experts, to prevent your plant from germinating is to buy cherry tomato seeds.

The other option would be to obtain them from a fruit that you have at home and for this, you have to cut a tomato with a disinfected knife, obtain some seeds and put them in a strainer and rinse them.

Germinate the seeds

To do this, you must spread the seeds on an absorbent paper and on the one placed in a plastic container moistened with the paper.

Then, cover with another absorbent paper, moisten and cover the plastic container. Leave it where the sun gives it and after three days, it will have already begun to germinate.

Choose the pot

Once germinated you must plant the seeds in the ground. This first pot does not have to be so big, only 200 milliliters will suffice.

It is important that it has holes at the bottom so that the water filters well.

Substratum

This plantation requires a slightly acid pH, constant humidity, so it is recommended to use peat substrate, which has a high capacity to retain water.

If you wish, you can add ten percent earthworm humus to provide more nutrients. This type of substrate will be enough for it to grow properly.

Sowing

Place a seed in the center and if you want to make sure it grows, place another seed on one side. Once it is well grown, you can transplant the shoot to let it grow. Put the seed on the ground, cover them with just a little soil and gently water them that moistens it to earth.

irrigation and sun

You must verify that it receives 6 to 8 hours of sun or that the environment where it is is warm. You must take care that the substrate remains moist so that it grows well.

Watering twice is enough, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. When you notice that it is very hot, but do not stop watering at least once a day.

Transplant

The time to do it is when the plant has grown and has mature leaves. One way to know when it is ready is when it gives 4 branches with leaves each, which occurs around the fifth to sixth weeks.

To carry out the transplant, you must select a pot with a capacity of 20 liters. Use the same soil mixture that we mentioned before and in the center. Make a hole to place the plant and cover it with another bit of soil, water it so that it settles and maintain the care of the cherry tomato.
