Deanne Criswell, the director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMÁ) in the United States, mentioned that these effects are due to climate change.

On the other hand, President Joe Biden expressed through his Twitter account that he was shocked by the tragedy, adding that the rescue forces are still working.
