Everything you need to know about Spotify
Spotify is one of the most popular music content platforms in the world, and although more and more alternatives are emerging, it has managed to remain one of the favorites, with a large number of important users around the planet.
One of the reasons that maintains its popularity is that it has a database of more than 10 million songs, which means that it allows you to get almost any artist and musical themes.
You can also create your own playlist with the music of your choice. Spotify is a multiplatform application generated in Sweden by Daniel Ek in October 2008 in order to provide free music content, without the need to download it.
This application offers songs, podcasts and digital videos and is available to download from the app stores on your cell phone or tablet.
How does Spotify work?
Spotify is not only available for mobile, but can also be used on various devices : PCs, smart watches, game consoles, modern TV and audio systems and includes its own website.
There are 2 forms of subscription; free and paid. The free mode has some other commercial advertising (with some other restrictions).
The paid version, on the other hand, have no time limitations and can be canceled at any time.
Features of the free version
It allows you to listen to the songs of the repertoire with some commercial breaks. On a phone, it limits listening to music to shuffle, so you pick a song or artist and the app automatically creates a playlist that, after a maximum of 5 skips per hour, you can't escape.
Streaming quality is limited and you can't download music offline.
Features of the Premium version
It allows you to listen to all the songs in the catalog, from any device and without commercial breaks.
It also allows you to download music offline (up to a maximum of 3 devices at the same time), activate streaming in good quality and take advantage of a particular function to play music through speakers, televisions, computers, among others, using the app from your phone or tablet as a remote control.
Spotify from computer
There is the option to enjoy Spotify from the PC, we only need to enter its official website, download and install. But first you must have an account, either by filling out a form, or by logging in from your Facebook account.
The second option is recommended, so you can take full advantage of all the social features and share your songs with your friends on Facebook.
In both cases, you must accept the terms and conditions of Policy and privacy, once you have created the account and log in, choose the most appropriate software download for your operating system.
So wait for the download to finish and then open the file you just downloaded on your computer.
The rest will be very intuitive, since you just have to run the installer and be patient, when the installation is finished all you have to do is enjoy the platform.
Although visually it looks a little different than the mobile version, it still has all the basic and necessary options to listen to your favorite songs.
Find songs on Spotify
On the Spotify home page, you can easily switch between different sections, such as the search bar, playlists, podcasts, favorite songs, and recently listened songs.
You can use the search bar at the top right to search for artists, songs, albums, playlists, and podcasts on the platform.
Once entered, the autocomplete system will provide the user with valid options to find a song or artist of interest. Another way to find new songs and music is to use the browse section.
That according to your mood here you can find new songs and music, from rock music, to Latin and classical music, depending on how you feel at that moment and what musical genre you want to listen to.
spotify radio
In the radio section, you can find new and interesting songs. This is a special shuffle mode where you can find songs and music similar to the one you just heard.
The system also provides a selection of recommended "radio stations" generated based on your listening habits.
You can start a radio session from any song and the algorithm will automatically select the next song. For each suggested song, you have the option to guess or hide the song.
In this way, the algorithm becomes more and more efficient and provides the perfect radio. To start the radio session, you need to find the artist or song to start with, click on the three dots on the right and select Go to radio track.
Spotify can save your favorite songs
Spotify allows the user to put their favorite songs in the favorites category. To do this, just click on the heart on the screen of each song, in addition to the fact that Spotify's algorithms understand our tastes and guide them better when choosing a radio or a mix.
Your favorite songs will be revealed through selection in a dedicated playlist, this way you can restore your favorite songs in seconds.
You can also bookmark Entire Album to include all songs from that album in your personal playlist.
Share and view songs from your friends
Once your account is connected, the desktop version will display a Friends Activity section where you can find new and interesting songs that your contacts are listening to.
This option is not mandatory and the application provides an effective alternative to protect privacy. In fact, you can start an offline listening session and keep your selections private for a period of time or permanently.
If your account is connected to Facebook, a side window will appear on the app's home page, displaying a list of friends who are currently using the service.
The window also shows the songs your friends are listening to, you can listen together just by clicking on the song title. This is a simple and effective way to share moments remotely.
